Light and Surface

Light and Surface investigates the changing relationship between material, reflection and perception. Combining paint with reflective, metallic and translucent elements, the works respond to shifts in light and viewer movement. Inspired by the reflective qualities of contemporary architecture, nature and urban environments, each piece evolves throughout the day as shadows, highlights and surrounding colours interact with its surface. The collection explores the idea that an artwork is not fixed, but continuously transformed by its environment and the presence of the viewer. Each pieces is based on true arcitecture in Tokyo and Japan.
